In November, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra launches the Soundcraft Symphonic Experience- a project of Non/Sense Arts Foundation. This groundbreaking concert combines music, technology, and creativity in real time.

Inspired by Terry Riley’s In C, this immersive event brings together student musicians, digital creators, and professional artists to explore how orchestral music can be built and experienced in new ways.

The result is a one-of-a-kind performance where the digital environment evolves with the music, and students perform both on stage and inside the virtual world—reimagining what it means to create and experience symphonic music together.

Joe Nicholls runs a Minecraft-centric YouTube channel called “jazziiRed,” which aims to educate and entertain using redstone, an in-game logic system that allows players to create complex machines. Since the channel’s debut in 2022, he has amassed over 130,000 subscribers and 14 million views, and he continues to share the wonders of redstone with the masses.

He combines his computer science background with his passion for music to create unique audio experiences in Minecraft, like the Terry Riley’s, In C machine that is featured today. This machine was born out of a 2023 collaboration with Henry Cheng and Joanne Kim, along with the Total Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, South Korea, where it took center stage in a first-of-its-kind live performance alongside real-life musicians.
